6-Day Tanzania Mid Range Safari

Upon arrival, you will be warmly received at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. If time allows, there is an optional city tour where you can explore the vibrant culture and markets of Arusha, preparing you for the exciting journey ahead.

In the evening, enjoy a detailed safari briefing to outline the days ahead. For those interested, an optional hike to Kilima Moto is available, offering a stunning sunset view to end your first day on a high note.

After breakfast at 8:30 AM, you’ll depart for Lake Manyara National Park, renowned for its spectacular flamingo flocks and the unique phenomenon of tree-climbing lions (though these are rarely spotted). Enjoy an exciting game drive filled with diverse birdlife, including vultures, eagles, and monkeys. Along the way, visit the hippo pool to observe these impressive animals up close and explore the natural hot springs.

Besides flamingos and hippos, expect to see a variety of wildlife such as buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, and elephants. After your game drive, you will head to your accommodation at Farm of Dreams Lodge in nearby Mto wa Mbu for dinner and relaxation.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic 6-hour drive from Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti National Park, including scheduled stops along the way. Your journey passes through the spectacular Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Stop: Ngorongoro Conservation Area (approx. 20 minutes)
You have the option to visit a Maasai village nearby, where you can learn about the Maasai culture — a tribe historically known for lion hunting, warrior traditions, and the unique practice of drinking raw animal blood. While some of these customs have faded, the cultural experience remains insightful and memorable (duration: 20-45 minutes; entrance fee not included).

Arriving in the late afternoon, settle into your accommodation before heading out on a game drive in the Seronera region, the heart of the Serengeti. Enjoy the stunning sunset as you watch the abundant wildlife, including the famous wildebeest and zebra migration, which numbers over 1.5 million wildebeests and 250,000 zebras.

Start your day with an early breakfast followed by a morning game drive in the Seronera region of Serengeti National Park. Enjoy abundant wildlife sightings throughout the morning until midday, when you’ll return to camp for lunch and to pack up.

In the afternoon, embark on a scenic game drive as you exit Serengeti, traveling approximately two hours to your next accommodation — Ang'ata Ngorongoro Camp, a charming mid-range tented bush camp situated on the rim of the iconic Ngorongoro Crater.

Begin your day with an early breakfast before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater at approximately 6:15 a.m. Your goal will be to spot the elusive black rhino—one of the hardest animals to find in this remarkable wildlife haven. Thanks to the crater’s unique geography as a vast, enclosed volcanic caldera, spotting wildlife here is generally easier than in other parks.

After a morning game drive, enjoy lunch within the crater before ascending back to the rim. Following packing, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Arusha for your final night.
