Afronyika Travel · Tanzania · From Ireland

Walk Africa's highest mountain. Witness its wildest plains.

A locally owned Tanzanian travel company designing journeys that combine Kilimanjaro’s rainforest trails with the Serengeti’s open horizons — crafted for travelers from Ireland.

The Safari Continues

From mountain trails to open plains.

Descend from Kilimanjaro’s foothills and the landscape transforms — acacia savanna, dry riverbeds, and the scent of dust and wild grass. Northern Tanzania is home to three of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife reserves, and we know every one of them intimately.

Tarangire National Park

Legendary for its ancient baobab trees and one of Africa’s highest concentrations of elephants. A quieter, more personal safari experience.

Ngorongoro Crater

The world’s largest intact volcanic caldera — a natural amphitheatre teeming with lion, leopard, rhino, and flamingo-lined soda lakes.

Serengeti National Park

The great migration. Endless golden grassland. Over 3 million animals moving across one of the planet’s most iconic landscapes.

A Smarter Way to Travel

Why this trip works so well for travelers from Ireland.

No summit pressure

Our Kilimanjaro foothills experience is designed for walkers, not climbers. You'll encounter the mountain authentically without the physical demands of a full ascent.

Genuinely affordable

Booking directly with a local Tanzanian company — rather than through European operators — means significantly better value without any compromise on quality or safety.

8 to 12 day options

Flexible durations designed around a working professional's holiday allowance. Our signature combined trip runs 10–11 days — enough time to do the mountain, the crater, and the migration properly.

Mountain + safari in one journey

Ireland to Tanzania is a single flight via a hub. Combining Kilimanjaro and safari in one trip is not only possible — it's the way most of our Irish guests choose to travel.

Common Questions

Questions Irish travelers ask us most.

Not at all. Our foothills and Mandara Hut experience is a guided forest walk — suitable for anyone with reasonable fitness who enjoys hiking. You don’t need technical skills, specialist gear, or altitude acclimatisation. Most of our Irish guests have no prior mountain experience.

Yes. Tanzania is one of Africa’s most politically stable and tourist-friendly countries. The tourist areas — Kilimanjaro, Arusha, and the Northern Circuit safari parks — are very well established. Our team is with you throughout the journey, and Irish citizens are well-regarded by locals.

Tanzania can be visited year-round. The dry season (June–October) offers excellent safari game viewing and comfortable trekking. The short dry season (January–March) is also popular and less crowded. We can advise on the best dates based on what you most want to see.

Our trips typically range from €2,000–€5,500 per person depending on duration, accommodation level, and inclusions. As a locally owned operator, we offer significantly better value than booking through European travel agents. Our free guide includes a full cost breakdown.

Absolutely — this is actually our most popular option for Irish travelers. Both experiences depart from Arusha, so combining them is seamless. A 7–10 day trip gives you time to do both properly.

Yes. Irish citizens need a visa to enter Tanzania. The good news: you can apply for an e-visa online in advance (straightforward process, processed in 2–3 days) or get a visa on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Our planning guide walks you through the exact steps.
